THE DILEMMA
An open letter to software developers

Most small software development companies providing Integrated accounting systems for Wholesale Distributors in today's marketplace are facing a dilemma. If they are not aligned in some capacity with one of the few big software developers, the dilemma only gets worse. Technology changes and automation requirements within rapidly evolving marketplaces are such that the small software company with limited capital cannot meet all the increasingly data intensive needs of today's sophisticated computer user. New computer systems with legacy, character based software, become difficult (if not impossible) to sell.
Consequently, small software development companies are often unable to meet client upgrade needs with their own proprietary software. They do continue to maintain and support the existing software for their user base but typically generate very little on-going profit while the number of users decline. On top of all this, big software developers are not interested in purchasing these small companies and/or their client base, because all legacy application software would have to be changed and there is little cash flow or "services" revenue to carry the debt of purchase.
Where does an owner turn if he wants to sell his company? How can an owner meet the future needs of their client base? How can an owner get out of the proprietary software business yet still receive enough compensation to make the sale of their user base worthwhile? Dana Solutions, LLC can help. We acquire hundreds of legacy accounts per year and then establish an upgrade plan to current, state of the art software.
I'm confident that our plan can meet all these objectives.
